About Network & Expansion Cards
Add Wi-Fi, faster networking, extra storage ports or more connections to a desktop PC or server with expansion cards from Dell, Cudy, Ugreen and ASUS.
- Check the slot first. Most cards use PCIe, so confirm your motherboard has a free slot of the right length (x1, x4 or x16) and whether your case needs a full-height or low-profile bracket.
- Wi-Fi and Bluetooth cards. Match the Wi-Fi standard (Wi-Fi 6, 6E or 7) to your router. Bluetooth usually needs a spare internal USB header on the motherboard.
- Network cards. A 2.5GbE or 10GbE card only gives faster speeds if your switch, router and cabling support it too.
- RAID and storage controllers. These are built for specific servers and drive types (SAS or SATA), so check the supported server models in the product specifications.
- M.2 adapter cards. A simple way to add an NVMe SSD to a board with no free M.2 slot. Whether you can boot from it depends on your motherboard.
